Boxing In Canada: Molitor vs. Ndlovu Rematch For IBF Title

Steve Molitor and Takalani Ndlovu go at it again tonight at Casino Rama in Rama, Ontario with the vacant IBF super bantam title on offer to the winner.

The first match between the two fighters took place at the same venue in July, 2007 with Molitor defending his IBF belt for the first time by stopping Ndlovu in the ninth frame.

Molitor, 31-1 (12), went on to make four more defenses before losing the crown to WBA kingpin Celestino Caballero via fourth round TKO. The 29 year old southpaw has since strung together three victories.

32 year old Johannesburg, South Africa based Ndlovu, 30-5 (18), has gone 3-1, mostly as a featherweight, since losing to Molitor, including an unsuccessful bid for the IBO 126 pound strap and winning a IBF featherweight eliminator in his most recent action.

Canadian stylist Molitor will once again have home advantage in this rematch while Ndlovu has proven able to deal with larger high level opponents but making the 122 pound limit for the first time in over two years could hurt the South African if the contest goes into the later rounds.
