We kick things off in America, where heavyweight Tony Thompson, 34-2 (22), and lightweight Hank Lundy, 18-0-1 (10), cruised to victory last night at the Omni New Daisy Theatre in Memphis, having easier than expected bouts.

Thompson stopped fellow former world title challenger Owen Beck, 29-5 (20), in the fourth of a scheduled ten rounder while Lundy posted a wide points verdict over previously unbeaten southpaw Tyrese Hendrix, 18-1-1 (7), over ten frames.

There were even quicker results at The Wicomico Civic Center in Salisbury as middleweight Fernando Guerrero, 18-0 (15), stopped Michael Walker, 19-4-2 (12), in the second and light middle Shawn Porter, 14-0 (11), rubbed out Raul Pinzon, 17-5 (16), in the first.

Heading across the Atlantic to England, Craig Watson and Denton Vassell won vacant Commonwealth title bouts.

Watson, 17-3 (7), stepped up to light middle and finished off big punching Badru Lusambya, 21-2-2 (19), in the second while Vassell, 15-0 (8), went 12 rounds for the first time in his career to post a unanimous decision over Lee Purdy, 13-2-1 (7), at welter.

At Palais des Sports in Sainte-Quentin, France, former European champ and world title challenger Cyril Thomas, 36-4-4 (10), was upset in front of a hometown audience as he pulled out by his cornermen following the seventh round against undefeated Justin Savi, 24-0 (16), who wins the WBC Silver featherweight title.

The headliner’s younger brother, Jerome Thomas, 9-0 (0), had better luck as he outpointed Bertrand Bossel, 9-7-2 (4), for the vacant WBC Mediterranean super feather belt.

The Southern Association Arena in Bangkok, Thailand hosted a night at the fights headlined by Saddam Kietyongyuth, 20-0 (16), knocking out Simson Butar-Butar, 19-11-2 (14), in the second of a scheduled 12 rounder.

At Tattersall’s Club in Brisbane, Australia, Joel Brunker, 14-0 (8), won a ninth round technical decision on points to keep the Australian featherweight title strap after he was badly cut in the scalp against novice Dianever Orcales, 3-3-2 (1).

At the Civic Centre in Emalalheni, South Africa, domestic light middle titlist Tshepo Mashego, 19-10 (11), stopped inexperienced challenger Johannes Salie, 1-3 (1), in the second round.
