\”The Contender\” out for the Count.

NBC’s “The Contender” boxing series, which recently reached its conclusion with the crowning of Sergio Mora as the show’s champion fighter will not be continued into a new season. As all TV favorites are coming to their end, many are popular enough to receive a second season, but the boxing drama created by British TV mogul Mark Burnett and starring Sylvester Stallone and “Sugar” Ray Leonard will not be among them. Despite enthusiastic TV presentations, “The Contender” registered consistently poor viewership ratings and is rumored to be the most expensive reality television show of all time, costing approximately one million dollars per episode.
