8 Count Boxing: Granados Added To Chicago Fight Card

ByBoxing Press 16/09/2010

Sensational junior welterweight Adrian Granados returns to the ring this Friday night, September 17th at the UIC Pavilion as part of an action packed evening of world class professional boxing presented by 8 Count Productions.

Granados will face off against Omaha, Nebraska native Trenton Titsworth in a scheduled five round bout.

The Cicero based Granados is coming off an outstanding five round shutout unanimous decision over undefeated Mike Culbert on June 19th at the UIC Pavilion.

The popular Granados is excited to be fighting during the week of the Mexican Independence Day festivities.

“It’s an honor to fight this weekend on the 200th anniversary of Mexico ’s Independence” said the 21 year old Cicero native. “As a Mexican American, I’m very proud to participate in the celebration as I enter the ring this Friday night.”

With an undefeated record of 3-0-0 (2KO’s), the St. Joseph High School graduate has thrilled the Chicago fight fans with his fast hands and all action fights.

“I love to fight and I’m very happy that fans enjoy coming to see me” said Granados, who has been accompanied by a growing legion of fans for each of his first three professional fights.

Granados has spent the last six weeks training in Chicago and has gotten excellent sparring with undefeated Russian prospect Aslanbek Kozaev, 11-0-0 (4KO’s) who will face fellow undefeated prospect Marcus Thompkins, 5-0-1 (2KO’s) of Michigan City, Indiana in a six round welterweight bout.

“Aslanbek and I work great together, I’ve seen a little bit of tape on Titsworth, but I’m also confident in my abilities that I can adjust to whatever takes place in the ring” said Granados.

Granados was a highly heralded amateur, compiling a record of 75-10 and was ranked #5 in the 2008 National Rankings at junior welterweight.

The show is headlined by a terrific ten round middleweight showdown between world ranked contender Andy Lee, 22-1-1 (16KOs) of Limerick , Ireland and local hard hitting veteran Michael Walker, 19-4-2 (12KO’s) at the UIC Pavilion.

The co-main event will feature the return to the ring of Chicago ’s Mexican Warrior, Luciano “EL Michoacano” Perez, 17-10-1 (15KO’s) taking on undefeated Russian junior middleweight Anton “The Pick Hammer” Novikov, 16-0-0 (6KO’s) in a scheduled eight round tilt.

Featured on the undercard will be local fan favorites and newcomers; super middleweight Mike “Hollywood” Jimenez, 1-0-0 (1KO), junior welterweight Antonio Canas, 1-0-0 (1KO) and middleweight Ramon Valenzuela, Jr. 1-0-0 (1KO), all of whom will be featured in separate bouts.

Also on the card will be junior middleweight prospect Donatas Bondarevas, 8-1-1 (2KO’s), of Kaunas, Lithuania and super feather Evgeny Gradovich, 4-0-0 (3KO’s) of Igrim, Russia, both of whom will be in six rounders.

Advance tickets, starting at $31 are available through Ticketmaster (www.ticketmaster.com), the UIC Pavilion Box Office (312-413-5740) and the 8 Count Productions’ Office (312-226-5800).
