British lightweight champion Graham Earl overcame the challenge of Kevin Bennett in the York Hall in Bethnal Green, London last night with a stirring performance. Earl found himself on the canvas at the halfway point of the fight before turning the tide dramatically and landing some huge shots that had Bennett reeling and unable to defend himself. With the win, Earl adds the Commonwealth title to his British crown. The fight was presented by Maloney Promotions and was entitled “Lightweight Bragging Rights.”
