Malignaggi to Return in August.
Light welterweight contender Paul “Magic Man” Malignaggi is aiming to return to boxing this August after a protracted absence from action. The young, flamboyant 140-pound star has suffered a series of hand injuries throughout his ealry career and with the right therapy, he intends to resume his career in style. Malignaggi turned professional in 2001 and racked up nineteen wins and yet, only five of those wins arrived by way of knockout. Malignaggi attributes this to his troubled hands. In his last ring action, Malignaggi defeated Sandro Casamonica via seventh round technical decision to become the WBC’s international light welterweight champion.
