Lightweights Murray, Mitchell Ready For Explosive July 9 Clash

ByBoxing Press 11/06/2011

Get ready for one of the most explosive fights in recent years between John Murray and Kevin Mitchell at the Excel London on Saturday 9th July.

Manchester ace Murray faces his arch-rival Kevin Mitchell for the Vacant WBO Intercontinental Lightweight Title with a potential world title fight for the winner.

Unbeaten Murray has amassed the longest unbeaten record in British boxing with 31 wins and 18 knockouts. He has won British and European titles and the only thing in his way of a world title shot is Mitchell.

“Mitchell is standing in the way of my dream of winning the world title and believe me, he is going to get steam-rolled on Saturday 9th July. I’ve wanted this fight for the last few years and I will smash him to bits on fight night and show you that I’m a world champion in the making.” stormed Murray.

London star Mitchell is promising the fight of his life as he puts everything on the line against Murray. The former WBO World Lightweight title challenger is out to reclaim his spot as Britain’s number one in the division and he knows what he has to do.

Mitchell said, “Trust me, Murray should forget about world titles because I’m going to knock him out on July 9th. His style is made for me and I’ll absolutely destroy him. He will be like a lamb to the slaughter when’s he’s in the ring with me and I’ll show no mercy.”

It’s set all set to be a dynamite showdown so make sure you get your tickets now!

An action packed card also features the best in British talent including: Norwich’s former Commonwealth Heavyweight Champion Sam Sexton, Hatfield middleweight Billy Joe Saunders, Dublin welterweight Dean Byrne, Penge Welterweight Bradley Skeete, Oldham welterweight Ronnie Heffron, Canning Town superfeatherweight Billy Morgan and welterweight Freddie Turner, Big Brother reality TV Star J.J Bird from Shepherds Bush and the pro-debut of Eddie Hussein from West Ham.
