Ramirez vs. Valdez In Mazatlan For WBC International Crown

Middleweight prospect Gilberto ‘Zurdo’ Ramirez (17-0,15 knockouts) will return to the ring on July 16th at the Lobodome in Mazatlan, Mexico to confront his first international contender, Colombian veteran Oney Valdez (22-10-1,16 knockouts), a former world title challenger, who is Ramirez’s most experienced opponent so far.

The contest takes place at the semifinal encounter “Mexico vs Colombia” boxing show that is co-promoted at this beautiful port by Zapari Boxing Promotions and Canelo Promotions.

The feature fight on the bill will be for the world championship. Also, Janeth “Cuisilla” Perez from Jalisco and the Colombian Yolis Marrugo Franco will fight to be the new female monarch of the WBA.

Ramirez, who is unbeaten in seventeen professional fights, defeated the experienced Francisco “Paco” Villanueva in the month of May, displaying great technical approaches and good punches.

Since then, Ramirez has not stopped training; he had already been informed of a fight at this level, where in addition to facing an opponent from abroad, he will posses worldwide rankings of the major agencies that govern this sport.

The combat is scheduled for 10 rounds and on offer is the WBC International belt, which has recently been worn by David Lemieux and Dominico Espada.

With the winner of this fight getting closer to qualifying for a title shot at the full WBC crown, Ramirez is determined to make the most of the biggest opportunity of his young career.
