Witter Struggles to Retain.

ByBoxing Press 09/07/2005

Tonight in Nottingham England, Bradford based light welterweight Junior “The Hitter” Witter put on a sluggish performance to keep hold of his European light welterweight championship. Ukrainian challenger Andreas Kotelnik pushed Witter and gave the Briton all he could handle en route to a decision loss that many thought was hugely beneficial to Witter. The razor thin decision win went 115-115 twice and a decidedly wayward 117-111 from one judge in favor of Witter who scrapes this win but fails to capitalize on any momentum gained from his dominating performance over world rated Lovemore N’Dou earlier this year in America. Witter’s professional record moves to thirty-two wins against one loss and two draws with nineteen knockouts. Kotelnik suffered his second career loss.
