Polyakov vs. Nkodu Added To Chicago Fight Card

ByBoxing Press 14/12/2011

Chicago based undefeated middleweight prospects Victor Polyakov and Foster Nkodu will each look to stay in the win column in a special attraction undercard battle at Windy City Fight Night 20 on Friday, December 16th at the UIC Pavilion.

Windy City Fight Night 20 is presented by Dominic Pesoli’s 8 Count Productions.

A native of Perm, Russia, Polyakov has built a record of 9-0-0 with six knockouts since turning professional in 2006. He is coming off a sensational performance, dominating Cleveland, Ohio veteran Romaro Johnson in a six round shutout decision on September 23rd at the UIC Pavilion.

The hard-hitting Polaykov represented the Ukraine in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece, advancing to the Quarterfinal Round.

Originally from Cameroon, crafty southpaw Nkodu was also a top amateur prospect prior to turning pro in 2008. Currently 6-0-0 with one knockout, he is coming off his finest performance as a professional, winning a six round decision over fellow undefeated prospect Mario Mina on November 6th in Tunica, Mississippi.

Speaking about the fight, Pesoli said, ‘This bout exemplifies what our Windy City Fight Night series is about. Two undefeated prospects with contrasting styles looking to test themselves. Polyakov is a true puncher with terrific power in each hand and Nkodu is much more of a boxer and mover.

Windy City Fight Night 20 is headlined by a sensational light heavyweight clash between “Chicago’s Polish Prince” Andrzej Fonfara and Minnesota based veteran Phil ‘The Drill” Williams.

Advance tickets priced at $76, $51, $36 and $31 can be purchased through Ticketmaster (www.ticketmaster.com

Doors open at the UIC Pavilion at 7pm with the first bell at 8pm. The UIC Pavilion is located at 525 S. Racine, just one block south of the Eisenhower Expressway.
