Today ended the activities of the International Boxing Hall of Fame in Canastota, NY.
The day began with a very colorful parade through the streets of Canastota. The world champions paraded and greeted everyone. Music bands and school ensembles also walked through the city.
Wagons with horses, fire trucks, antique cars, motorcycles and clowns paraded to delight of the audience.
To close the celebration, the six new members of the Hall of Fame received their rings.
Journalist Michael Katz, Ring Announcer Michael Buffer, Broadcaster Al Bernstein, Trainer Freddie Roach along with former World Champions Mark Johnson and Tommy Hearns were officially inducted at the Hall of Fame and received their rings.
Many people packed the place, fans and media alike. On the stage as guests were boxing greats and legends such as Marvin Hagler, Antonio Tarver, Hilario Zapata, Sugar Ray Leonard, Aaron Pryor, and Cecilia Braekhus, among others.
Gilberto Mendoza, president of the WBA, and his son Gilberto Jesus Mendoza, vice president of the WBA, were also present.
At the end, the new members of the Hall of Fame signed autographs and gave fans photos.
The Induction activities of International Boxing Hall of Fame ended its 2012 version.
