Tonight’s main event televised on Telefutura’s “Solo Boxeo” boxing series featured the return of the “Hispanic Causing Panic”, with Juan Lazcano, 141 ¼ pounds, destroying Marco Angel Perez, 141-pounds inside of one round. Lazcano, who was coming off a fourteen month layoff after having a disagreement with his boss Oscar De La Hoya, came out with his hands held high, and showed a lot of head and upper body movement. Juan looked a little tight during the first minute of the fight, while Perez let his hands go. Lazcano parried, blocked, and sidestepped most of the incoming traffic, and looked effective the way he moved his upper body very well. Then, as the “Hispanic Causing Panic” ducked under a wide hook, he came up with a beautifully placed uppercut to the chin of Marco Angel, instantly putting the Mexican down. It was painfully obvious that Perez was not going to beat the count. With the win, Lazcano improves to 34-3-1 with 25 knockouts, but more importantly is boxing again and will hopefully be ready for major fights within the next six months.
