Hitz Boxing Back With Black Wednesday At Horseshoe Casino

ByBoxing Press 02/11/2012

Legendary Boxing Promoter Bobby Hitz announced today that Hitz Boxing will return to Hammond, Indiana’s The Venue at The Horseshoe Casino on Wednesday, November 21, 2012.

“Fight Night at The Horseshoe,” featuring an eight round main event between Russian heavyweight sensation Andrey Fedosov and “Rockin” Rodney Moore from Houston, TX, as well as a six round bout between two undefeated Chicago cruiserweights, Dimar “Strongman” Ortuz and Terry Martin.

As Hitz continues his annual tradition of producing a fight card the night before Thanksgiving, also known as Black Wednesday, he also has launched an online reality show “Hitz Boxing” which has amassed close to 1,500,000 views since its mid August debut.

“I’m excited about bringing this fight card to the Las Vegas style atmosphere of The Venue at the Horseshoe Casino and the opportunity to introduce Andrey Fedosov to Chicago fight fans,” said Hitz, President and CEO of Hitz Boxing.

“Our Black Wednesday matches have always been really popular and those joining us on November 21 will not be disappointed.”

Fedosov (22-2, 18 KOs) is the former WBC Youth Heavyweight Champion from Shuya, Russia. Moore (17-6-2, 7KOs), his opponent, is a former NABA Champion staging a comeback.

The match-up between Ortuz (5-0, 4KO’s), who beat the formerly undefeated Donta Woods is not expected to last its scheduled six rounds.

In another notable six-round encounter, Chicagoan middleweight slugger Donatas Bondorovas (15-3-1, 4 KOs) who is from Lithuania will take on Evansville, Indiana’s “King” David Thomas (10-2-2, 8 KOs).

Chicago favorites Mike “Hollywood” Jimenez, a promising super middleweight prospect (7-0, 4 KOs) and Abdulai “The Classiq” Amidu (20-0, 17 KOs), a Manny Pacquiao sparring partner and undefeated knockout sensation, will each go six rounds against opponents to be named soon.

Opponents will also be announced shortly for Frankie “Time Bomb” Scalise (4-1, 4 KOs), Genaro Mendez (4-1, 3 KOs), kickboxing and Golden Gloves champ Simon “The Punisher” Buettner (2-0, 2 KOs) and Russell “Rocky” Fiore (6-2-1, 6 KOs) as well as “Irish” Jimmy Murphy and Jonathan Manos, who will both be making their professional debuts.

Hitz Boxing has recently introduced “Hitz Boxing,” an online actuality show, directed by popular DJ and former radio personality Frankie “Hollywood” Rodriguez. The show, which is available at hitzboxing.com, YouTube and other online outlets, gives viewers unprecedented access to the business of boxing, its promoters, trainers, regulators and fighters.

“We are thrilled with the success of the “Hitz Boxing” actuality show and enjoy sharing this unique perspective on our business with our viewers,” said Hitz. “Frankie does an excellent job of telling the story of the boxing business.”
