“New Sensations” Fight Card Features Mansouri, Gaynor

With a cluster of his prospects destined to take huge strides in 2013, Dave Coldwell is eagerly anticipating the remainder of the year as he gets to examine the progress being made by the younger members of his booming Coldwell Boxing stable.

Next Friday, Feb 22nd , two of those stars kick off a hectic fortnight for Coldwell Boxing as recent Prizefighter participants, Nav Mansouri and Chad Gaynor, headline “New Sensations” at Rotherham’s atmospheric Magna Centre. Coldwell believes the pair are destined for future prizes.

“Nav and Chad are two of the best names that I have boxing for me and in the next twelve months, they’re names that you’ll be hearing an awful lot more of as they climb the domestic rankings. I’ve watched both since their early days and I see them in the gym on a regular basis so I know exactly what to expect from the pair.

“Both are in wide open, competitive divisions and there is a ton of fights that I’d like to make for both in the next few months but their attention has to be on next Friday for now as I’m certain they don’t want to overlook their opponents.”

With Gaynor not yet matched and Mansouri facing former British title challenger, Max Maxwell, Coldwell is well aware that in the current boxing climate it is necessary to make challenging contests for his up and coming protégées as it learns them vital lessons and also satisfies the paying public.

The Mansouri/Maxwell battle is no different and Coldwell is hopeful that an impressive showing from his man may open the door for an imminent title opportunity.

“I’m ready to let Nav off the leash because I think now is definitely the time that he’s set for bigger challenges. He was originally scheduled to face Terry Carruthers who beat him in Prizefighter last November but when Carruthers withdrew I made the Maxwell fight in a second.

“He’s given the likes of Sam Webb, Erick Ochieng and Brian Rose a hard time and that’s the level where I want Nav to go next. This fight will be an ideal measuring stick of where Nav can go in this sport. I’m confident that he’ll do a good job on Maxwell.”
