CES CLOSES OUT 2005 WITH A BANG ON NOVEMBER 23RD!

Classic Entertainment & Sports, Inc. (CES) announced today at the Hi Hat in Davol Square that it will close out its 2005 boxing season with a major event on Wednesday, November 23rd at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Downtown Providence, Rhode Island.

The event is being presented by the Mohegan Sun Casino and will feature six exciting bouts with five featured attractions and two world championship fights! Providence’s reigning WBC U.S. super middleweight champion Joey “The KO Kid” Spina headlines this star-studded evening along with 2004 United States Olympian Jason “Big Six” Estrada and a special world title fight featuring Narragansett’s Jaime “The Hurricane” Clampitt defending her IWBF world lightweight crown.

In the second world championship fight of the evening, Cranston’s Missy “The Fury” Fiorentino will look to become the second Rhode Island female to be crowned a world champion as she battles for the vacant IWBF world title. Rounding out the show will be a special bout featuring reigning WBC U.S. cruiserweight champion Matt “Too Smooth” Godfrey. Pawtucket’s undefeated Puerto Rican sensation Eddie Soto rounds out the card.

In addition to the action packed excitement in the ring, CES will have two special presentation ceremonies. CES will be presenting Rhode Island’s own Contender Peter Manfredo, Jr. with his own championship belt signifying the fact that most felt he should have been crowned Contender champion on October 15th only to have the decision stolen from him in Los Angeles.

The second presentation will mark a special milestone for Rhode Island sports legend & five-time world champion Vinny Paz as CES will present him with an honorary world title belt from the prestigious World Boxing Council. The WBC is the lone major world title that Paz did not win, and now he will be able to add the prestigious green belt to his mantle next to his IBF world lightweight crown and his WBA world junior middleweight title.

“This is a special night for all boxing fans as this is an event worthy of pay per view,” said CES President Jimmy Burchfield. “We will have a tremendous night of action inside that ring and some very special festivities. There is really no better way to work up a big appetite for Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday than to come out and cheer on the CES team the night before.”

The event will be televised on a taped-delay basis on CN8, The Comcast Network to over 6 million homes throughout the Mid-Atlantic and New England, as well as Cox3 in Rhode Island and various other networks nationally. The CN8 announcing team consists of Ed Berliner, Phil Burton and five-time world champion & future hall of famer Vinny Paz.

Tickets for the event, priced at $152, $102, $52 and $32 are available now by calling CES at 401-724-2253 or 401-724-2254. Additional information on the event is available online at www.cesboxing.com.

Press Conference Quotes:

JOEY “THE KO KID” SPINA
“Jimmy and I are a team and I know that we will head to the top. My goal is to be a true world champion and its all about stepping it up each time I fight. I will be ready for whoever Jimmy puts in front of me and I will do what I do, that’s knock people out. I don’t care what I have to do to get to where I want to be. My trainer Eddie Mustafa Muhammad was one of the best fighters in history and he is one of the best trainers. As long as I listen to him, I know I will go far. He is coming to Providence this weekend and than I will be returned to Las Vegas with him to continue my training camp. I am looking forward to a great night on November 23rd.”

JAIME “THE HURRICANE” CLAMPITT
“Big things have been happening for me since my last fight. The drop in weight gave me so much more speed and power, I could have never imagined the difference. I am excited about so many things. Next week Gold’s Gym releases their 2006 Calendar to the world and I am proud to be the month of December. I have had some talks with a movie production company from California about a documentary, so things are going great and I won’t let whoever I fight stand in the way of my progress. I am training hard and I know I will take care of business and retain my belts. In addition, I brought both of my world titles with me and I am lending my IWBF junior welterweight belt to my teammate Missy Fiorentino so she can have it with her at the gym and use it as motivation for her training because than she’ll want one of her own and will bring one back to CES on November 23rd.”

MATT “TOO SMOOTH” GODFREY
“I am thrilled to be fighting in my hometown. You know people had been asking me to show my skills and go some rounds. So the last two fights I went 8 and 10 rounds and showcased my boxing skills and ability. Now its time for me to start knocking people out again. So I am looking forward to fighting another solid guy on November 23rd and I plan on knocking him out.”

JASON “BIG 6” ESTRADA
“Fighting in Providence once again is great because it just keeps getting bigger and bigger every time. I am looking forward to it and showing that I am one of the best heavyweights in the world. I look out at the heavyweights right now and I don’t really see anyone who is any good. I know I have the ability and I am looking forward to showing it again on November 23rd.”

MISSY “THE FURY” FIORENTINO
“I am really looking forward to this fight. I am training hard with my trainer Peter Manfredo, Sr. and we are working on a lot of new things. I am learning better defense and more boxing and I am looking forward to showing everyone that on November 23rd and adding another champion to the CES team. My first try at a world title came in Japan and I really had no chance in that fight. This time its in my hometown and I will make sure to get that belt.”

EDDIE SOTO
“I am ready to fight. I am always in the gym and I love to fight. I will be ready and I hope that all my fans come out and see a great night of boxing.”
