Martin Power takes boxing back to it’s old traditions when he defends his British bantamweight title at York Hall on May 30th against Isaac Ward.

Why is this show taking boxing back to it’s old tradition?.

Tuesday night was always the traditional night for British boxing at the Shoredith Town Hall, Royal Albert Hall and Wembley when the fight fans turned out to see champions like Charlie Magri, Mark Kaylor, Lloyd Honeyghan and Paddy Maguire who won the British bantamweight title in London on a Tuesday night. Another famous London bantamweight who was often seen on a Tuesday night was Johnny Clark, does this mean that boxing is going back to it’s old tradition when it doesn’t clash with premiership football or is it just a one off.

Power has resumed training at London’s TKO gym after being given the all clear to fight by his physio and is looking to put the disappointment of the previous postponment of the 10th March behind him and is looking to doing a blistering job on Ward.

Power was bitterly disappointed when Damaen Kelly was robbed in his European title fight as there was much speculation of a clash between the pair and his the two teams were in negotiations.

Power said “In my opinion Kelly was robbed if Kelly doesn’t get the rematch he thoroughly deserves I will willingly give him a shot at my British title I need one more notch for my Lonsdale belt”

Chief support sees enigmatic Anthony Small boxing over eight rounds and the return of World rated Yuri Romanov who loves to box in front of the knowledgable English fight fans.

Don’t forget fours days before this we get the mouthwatering clash between Carl Froch and Brian Magee for the British and Commonwealth titles at Super-Middleweight also at the home of British Boxing the York Hall.
