Vusumzi Tyatyeka and Mzuvukile Magwaca Defend Titles In Cape Town

Vusumzi Tyatyeka, 16-2 (14) takes on Hungarian Gyorgy Mizsei Jr., 12-5 (7), while All-Africa Light Flyweight champion Mzuvukile Magwaca, 11-0-1 (7), will be up against Joseph Martey, 6-1 (3), from Ghana. To defend their World Boxing Federation titles on June 8th at the famous Bay Hotel in Camps Bay, Cape Town, on a card presented by former fighter Commando Kalekuzi and his Pound-For-Pound Promotions.
Tyatyeka claimed his WBF title in June 2012 via an impressive KO of Thanduxolo Dyani. He has since scored one non-title win, and will be itching to return to the ring:
“I am ready to shed blood to keep my title. I want a world title shot in the future, and this win will be a step closer to attaining my dream. Gyorgy Mizsei Jr is in troubleâ€, stated Tyatyeka at a recent press conference.
Mzuvukile “Old Bones†Magwaca won the All-Africa championship by outscoring Dalisizwe Komani, from South Africa, in August. Like Tyatyeka, he has claimed an interim non-title fight while waiting impatiently for his very first title defense:
“I’ve trained really hard for this bout, and I can guarantee that this belt will stay in Cape Townâ€, growled the mean-looking champion.
WBF President Howard Goldberg, himself from Cape Town, went to the press conference and was impressed due to the obvious focus and determination of the two champions:
“The fighters look really ready, and I am certain we will have a great evening at the fights on June 8â€, stated Goldberg.
“Mr. Kalekuzi always put on exciting boxing cards, and with these two WBF title bouts it will definitely be no different this time.â€
