Mundine – Acosta

Anthony “The Man” Mundine, one of the world’s best fighters not currently holding a major world title belt is scheduled for action on November 15 at the Entertainment Centre in Newcastle, Australia.

A former WBA Super Middleweight Champion, Mundine, 26-3 (20), is coming off a superb victory in perhaps the biggest fight in Australian boxing history when he thoroughly outboxed big punching domestic rival Danny Green in May.

Extremely fast handed for a man of his size, Mundine is awaiting his next big break at a world title and has indicated that he may even drop down a weight class and campaign as a middleweight, but first the former Australian Rules Football superstar must dispose of hard as nails Argentine opponent, Rueben Eduardo Acosta, on November 15.

While certainly possessing less experience than Mundine, Acosta, 12-1-4 (1), is cut from the same mold that has produced a long line of steel tough fighters from the mean street of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The 28 year old will be looking to impress that tradition onto the favored Australian and has already told the Argentine press that he will not return to his homeland unless he can bring back the scalp of Anthony Mundine.

In addition to the challenge posed by Acosta, Mundine must also remain doubly focused to avoid overlooking the South American as there are many attractive options that may be in the future of “The Man”, such as a long awaited showdown with WBO/IBF Champion Joe Calzaghe.

Tony Mundine Promotions presents the Anthony Mundine vs. Ruben Acosta fightcard on November 15 at the Newcastle Entertainment Center, located at the Showground in Broadmeadow, NSW, Australia. Ticket Prices are as follows Category 1: $150, Category 2: $100, Category 3: $60, Category 4: $40, Category 5: $20. Main Event will televise the action live on Pay Per View
from 7PM AEDT.
