Boxing’s Golden Boy Oscar De La Hoya Speaks About Next 8 Count Show

ByBoxing Press 08/11/2006

Dominic Pesoli’s 8 Count Productions and Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions have teamed up once again to present Cicero Chill, another outstanding evening of world class professional boxing this Friday night, November 10th.

Said De La Hoya about the upcoming event, “What can I say about working with 8 Count Productions other than the fact that they are a first class organization that puts the fighters and the fans first when they put on their shows, and the results speak for themselves. We’ve worked with 8 Count several times and the shows just keep getting better and better. Chicago is a great fight town and the boxing fans there always make us feel welcome.”

Headlining the evening is a twelve round USBA featherweight title fight between Mexico City’s Martin “El Brochas” Honorio and Tanzanian native Rogers “The Tiger” Mtagwa.

Co-headlining the card is an eight round super featherweight bout between 2004 US Olympian Vicente Escobedo and Ramon Guevara.

Said Pesoli about the evening, “This is a terrific event for our fans. I’m very happy to work with Oscar and his team on this event. In the last year Oscar’s brought some great talent to Chicago.

He’s put together an outstanding main event and our fans will also get to see some outstanding prospects including Escobedo, Tavoris Cloud, Mike Gonzalez and Rudy Cisneros. Add on bouts with Zepeda and the Polish prospects, Fonfara and Polakov and we’ve got a great show with 55 scheduled rounds of boxing.”

Rogers Mtagwa vs. Martin Honorio, twelve rounds, featherweights
USBA Featherweight Title
Tavoris Cloud vs. Douglas Lafontsee, eight rounds, light heavyweights
