Chamberlain Added To Dig April 11 Leeds Bill

Isaac Chamberlain will face his second pro outing at the First Direct Arena in Leeds on April 11, live on Sky Sports.

Chamberlain made an impressive start to life in the paid ranks in January at The O2, taking every round of four against the vastly experienced Moses Matovu, and the Cruiserweight prospect takes his talents to Yorkshire on the undercard of local star Josh Warrington’s clash with Dennis Tubieron for the vacant WBC International Featherweight title in an official eliminator for the World title, and the 21 year old Brixton talent is looking forward to sampling the fevered atmosphere in Leeds.

“Eddie Hearn told me about the fans in Leeds and it is really exciting to go and fight there,” said Chamberlain. “The fans create an amazing atmosphere and I am really looking forward to hearing them make some noise.

“I haven’t been to the Arena before but I have seen the fights. So to hear that noise for myself, I think it will be great.

“It is all about experience and I want to learn as much as I can. Every fight is a learning curve which will make me better in the ring. I study hard how to be better, I watch videos and am a student of the game. I am doing all the revision and my tests are in the ring. Every time I get into the ring I want to see an improvement.

“I have looked back at my debut and I can say it was a good performance and everything went the way we planned. Because it was my first outing it was a bit ‘off’ and I didn’t get into my own rhythm like I really wanted to.

“It was the first time so I wasn’t really myself. I listened to my coach and tried to be safe. Everyone had been telling me, ‘this is the pro’s and every punch will hurt’. But he hit me and it didn’t really have an effect at all. Next time I am definitely going to box the way I normally box.”

Chamberlain is part of a great line-up of action in Leeds, topped by Warrington’s showdown with Tubieron.

Willie Limond defends his British Light Welterweight title against unbeaten Welshman Chris Jenkins, while Martin J. Ward and Maxi Hughes lock horns in a British Lightweight title eliminator following their great first clash in December.

Leeds’ British Light Heavyweight champion Bob Ajisafe is in action on his home patch, Liverpool’s World rated Super Middleweight Rocky Fielding continues his comeback from injury and Prizefighter champion Jono Carroll fights for the first time since winning the trophy in December and in his first contest under new promoter Hearn.
