BoxNation Announces Accessibility On Amazon Platforms

ByBoxNation 04/06/2015

The world’s leading boxing channel – BoxNation, will be accessible to Amazon customers across GB and Ireland, launching in the Amazon Appstore, across the company’s device line up including Amazon Fire TV, the new Fire TV Stick, Fire Phone, Fire tablets and on other devices in the Amazon Appstore for Android.

The launch will expand BoxNation’s reach as it offers fight fans even greater flexibility by giving them the chance to watch the ‘The Channel of Champions’ through popular Amazon and Android-based devices.

Boxing fans will have access to live and exclusive fights plus benefit from video on demand from last three months catalogue of new fights, documentaries and interviews.

BoxNation is renowned for its unrivalled boxing coverage, regularly showing live fights from across the world including the likes of Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao, Tyson Fury, Amir Khan, Wladimir Klitschko and many more.

BoxNation will be available through the Amazon Appstore at an amazing value of just £12 a month, with no minimum term, and will launch ahead of Khan’s crunch clash with New Yorker Chris Algieri live and exclusive tonight from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Furthermore, BoxNation will air a host of other top fights in the coming weeks including Miguel Cotto vs. Daniel Geale, Nicholas Walters vs. Miguel Marriaga, Tim Bradley vs. Jessie Vargas, Terry Flanagan vs. Jose Zepeda and Sergey Kovalev vs. Nadjib Mohammedi.

Since its creation in 2011 BoxNation has proved a major success and is currently available to GB and Irish customers via Sky, Virgin, TalkTalk and online. The BoxNation app will be available to download through the Amazon Appstore.

Availability through Amazon platforms will see the channel continue going from strength-to-strength as it targets new audiences through cutting-edge streaming products such as the slick and powerful Amazon Fire TV and the new Fire TV Stick—Amazon’s fastest-selling UK device ever in the first week after going on sale.

Jim McMunn, Managing Director of BoxNation, said: “We are delighted to be able to offer BoxNation to more customers through the Amazon Appstore. BoxNation has proved hugely successful since we first launched in 2011 and the growth of the channel has been remarkable.

“We are all about making the channel as accessible as possible and launching on the Amazon Appstore gives us another platform to do just that. The way people watch TV is changing and it’s important as an innovative channel to recognise that so we are very pleased to join forces with Amazon to provide the best boxing coverage at a real value-for-money price.”

“We’re delighted to welcome BoxNation to the Amazon ecosystem,” said Steve Rabuchin, Vice President, Amazon Appstore. “We’re committed to providing our customers with access to the best content and the widest possible app selection.

“With BoxNation we’re happy to offer boxing fans a leading service they can access and enjoy not only on Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick, Fire phone and Fire tablets, but on Android devices as well.”
