BoxNation To Show Golovkin vs. Lemieux KO King World Title Clash

ByBoxNation 05/09/2015

As announced on ‘Bunce’s Boxing Hour’, one of this year’s most exciting fights has landed on BoxNation with knockout artists Gennady Golovkin and David Lemieux set to produce a spectacular showdown on October 17.

The two world champions meet head-to-head in one of the most eagerly anticipated unification clashes in 2015, as they look to prove who is the best middleweight on the planet, live and exclusive on the world’s number one boxing channel.

Kazakh hitman Golovkin has risen to become among the most electrifying fighters around accumulating 30 knockouts in his 33 wins, picking up the WBA, IBO and interim WBC world title belts along the way.

However, up against an equally impressive banger in IBF world champion Lemieux, who has 31 knockouts from 34 wins, he will be tested like never before.

Fireworks are guaranteed when these two 160-pound all-action titans clash at New York’s iconic Madison Square Garden in a matchup that has ‘Fight of the Year’ written all over it.

“I’m very excited to face David Lemieux to prove who is number one in the middleweight division,” said Golovkin. “I look forward to fighting again at Madison Square Garden and putting on another Big Drama Show for my fans in New York City.”

“I’ve said that I don’t care who I fight, so long as they are the best, and Golovkin is the best out there in the middleweight division,” Lemieux said. “GGG may be the most feared man in boxing, but after October 17th, there will be a new feared man in the middleweight division. Two very powerful punchers are coming into the ring. There will be blood; there will be fireworks, and I am confident I will emerge victorious.”

The mouth-watering battle joins an already packed schedule on ‘The Channel of Champions’ BoxNation, who are also set to air pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather’s final bout against Andre Berto on September 12.

BoxNation continually showcases the very best fights from around the world and in Golovkin versus Lemieux British fight fans will get the chance to see two fighters who each have a devastating knockout ratio of over 90 percent.

33-year-old Golovkin, who had a glittering amateur career, has stopped his last 20 straight opponents inside the distance while defending his title fourteen times, most recently in May of this year against Willie Monroe Jr in front of 12,000 fans at The Forum in Los Angeles.

The scintillating Lemieux is also coming off a highly impressive win after dominating the brave Hassan N’Dam over 12 rounds in June, scoring four knockdowns in the process, to set up a gripping meeting with the formidable Golovkin.
