Joey Gilbert, “Contender” reality TV star, promoter and main event headliner, successfully defended his WBO North American Boxing Organization middleweight championship with an unanimous 12-round decision over undefeated Michi Munoz (now 17-1, 12 KOs), of Topeka,
Kan. via Guanajuato, Mexico. Gilbert, who weighed 159 pounds and is now 14-1 with 10 knockouts, won by scores of 119-109 (twice) and 120-108. The Joey Gilbert Promotion’s 1st Annual “Snow Brawl” was a huge success and nearly sold out venue, and was held at 6500 feet at the MontBleu Resort Casino in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. He also wants to make his recent fight card available to be rebroadcast in local, regional and national networks, and is seeking to air it within the next 6 weeks.
Gilbert intends to promote and fight his next card in his hometown of Reno, NV in early May with the site selection and undercard boxers still under discussion.
