Undefeated lightweight prospect Mike Gonzalez will face veteran Jamie Alvarado at the Par A Dice Hotel and Casino in East Peoria, Illinois on Saturday April 7, it was announced today by Dominic Pesoli, President of Chicago based 8 Count Productions.
Gonzalez, a native of Bayamon, Puerto Rico, currently residing in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, sports a record of 9-0-1 (8KO’s). The hard swinging, highly regarded prospect thrilled the PAR A DICE Hotel and Casino crowd on September 1, 2006 with a crushing second round knockout of Donnell Logan.
Said Gonzalez, “The PAR A DICE was a great place to fight. The crowd last September was very supportive and I’m looking forward to putting on another great show next month.”
Alvarado, a native of Mexico City, now residing in Fort Wayne, Indiana, brings a record of 7-5-2 (4KO’s) into the bout with Gonzalez. Last year he won two decisions over former Indiana State Champion Ruben Galvan.
Said Pesoli about the matchup, “It’s a terrific bout between two highly skilled, hard hitting young guys. Throw in the Puerto Rican/Mexican angle and this should be an outstanding matchup.
