Long-time WBO light flyweight champion Nelson Dieppa of Puerto Rico will make his latest defense of that title against Alex Sanchez on the 29th of this month at the Ruben Rodriguez Coliseum, Bayamon in Puerto Rico. Dieppa won the title in the year 2000 but has not defended it as many times as would have been liked, he did not fight at all in the year 2003 for example. Dieppa’s last fight wa s amajority decision win over Ulises Solis. Sanchez has thirty-one wins against four losses and one draw. Sanchez is a former WBO minimumweight champion, a title he defended several times. In recent times though, he lost an IBF light flyweight championship fight and another WBO minimumweight title shot against fellow Puerto Rican Ivan Calderon.
