Firefighters from Five Boroughs to Grill Off for FDNY Charities on Thursday, June 21, at Gallagher’s Steak House. Manhattan, Bronx, Staten Island, Queens and Brooklyn square off in celebration with all proceeds going to FDNY charities; $45 per person
It is well known throughout New York’s five boroughs that some of the best cooking is done in the city’s firehouses. And so Gallagher’s Steak House, the renowned theater district restaurant, will host the “Firefighters Grill Off Challenge,” a celebration of the firefighters with all proceeds going to FDNY charities on Thursday afternoon, June 21, beginning at 12:00 noon.
The event will pit a firefighter representing each of the five boroughs – Manhattan, Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens and The Bronx – for the best beef recipe as judged by a celebrity and expert panel. The public is invited to attend for a $45 contribution, and all proceeds will go to FDNY charities.
Firefighters from Gallagher’s franchise cities in Tampa, Newark, Atlantic City, Denver and Las Vegas will compete against the winner in a national challenge later this year.
The menu will include house salad, ample steak and beef tastings from the five firefighters’ recipes, and dessert.
“We are delighted to host the FDNY at a culinary event for their favorite charities,” said Gallagher’s General Manager Terry Condon. “New York’s Bravest have a special place in our hearts and in the kitchen.”
