Spanish veteran Javier Castillejo is the mandatory challenger for European Middleweight ruler Sebastian Sylvester.

Cancelled shows: Hammer Knockout in Poland cancelled their planned July 6 show mainly due to the difficulties of promoting shows during summertime. In Italy the planned show in Varese July 11 was cancelled when jr welter Michele DiRocco pulled out of his European Union titlefight against Giuseppe Lauri.

Cuban feather Yuriorkis Gamboa, who fought Joel Mayo in Hamburg this past weekend, has been reunited with his wife and daughter after a dramatic escape from Cuba. The Gamboas plans to reside in Berlin.

Danish super middle Rudy Markussen is now on the EBU suspension list as his managerial dispute with Team Palle continues. Markussen has been out of action since losing to Sergey Tatevosyan last year. Markussen is thus no longer official challenger for European Union champ Lolenga Mock.

Spanish junior middle Ruben Varon was forced to retired with a broken hand against Venezulean Jairo Alvarez June 30. The injury jeopardize the already signed fight against Frenchman Christophe Canclaux, which was in the works for August 18 in Germany on the Abraham vs Gevor bill.

Jean Marc Mormeck vs David Haye WBC and WBA clash at cruiser is on for September 28 in France but site is still to be determined. It can´t be staged in Levallois as planned due to the World Cup in rugby.

Polish welter Rafael Jackiewicz fights in Oporto, Portugal, August 12.

The Swedish Pro Boxing Commission have applied to the Martial Arts Delegation about allowing a fight scheduled for six three minute rounds September 15 in Karlstad. Previously MAD have only approved fights over 4×3 and turned down a general request from Pugnus Boxing Promotion for three fights over 6×3. The commission hopes that the planned heavyweight fight between Robert Daniels and Aldo Colliander will get a special permission.

There are several “ifs” and “buts” though the biggest being that Aldo will have to come out relatively allright against Odlanier Solis tomorrow night. MAD have their first meeting after the summerbreak August 22.
