Last Friday January 14th 2005 took place in the Ukrainian city of Donetsk the WBA International – E.B.A. lightweight mandatory title defense between PEDRO MIRANDA (Spain) vs. ANDREY KUDRYAVTSEV (Ukraine) at the Municipal Sport Palace in front of a 6.000 people audience, winning the official challenger Kudryavtsev by TKO on eleventh round. It was a great championship between two well experienced fighters. On second round Miranda suffered a knockdown, though he recovered quickly. Mid rounds were leveled by both sides until round eighth when Miranda was sent again to the canvas. Although the Champion stood up at the mandatory count of eight the Ukrainian fighter started to dominate clear the action just up to round eleventh (2:45 min) when the referee had to stop the championship.
