Promising heavyweights Kevin “The Kingpin” Johnson, 15-0-1 (6), and Damian “Bolo” Wills, 22-1-1 (16), clash in the main event on “ShoBox: The Next Generation” on Friday, Aug. 3 on Showtime at 11 p.m. ET/PT, delayed on the west coast.
The doubleheader, promoted by Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing, will originate from the Far West Rodeo in Doraville, Ga and in the featherweight co-feature, Eric Hunter, 7-1 (3), of Philadelphia, Pa, will take on Tyrell Samuel, 9-1 (5), of Baltimore, MD.
Kevin Johnson – 229 lb:
“I am very excited to be fighting on Showtime, and, come Friday night, I am going to show everyone what Showtime is all about.”
“Wills has two choices: either quit on the stool or get knocked out.”
“I am going to finish what Arreola started. I helped prepare Arreola for his fight against Wills back in November, and look what happened to him.”
Damian Wills – 253 lb:
“I am going to knock Johnson out. He better bring his running shoes. He will need them.”
“I have come all this way to knock Johnson out. I don’t like this guy. He has a big mouth, and I am going to break his jaw.”
Eric Hunter – 125 lb:
“Samuel is already scared. There will not be any later rounds.”
“Samuel can say what he wants, but I will do what I am here to do.”
Tyrell Samuel – 126 lb:
“This is a great opportunity for me coming off a loss. I will be able to showcase my skills and make an example of Hunter.”
“I really don’t know anything or even think about Hunter. I just know I am ready to fight. I will stop him in the latter rounds.”
