Boxing In South Africa: BSP Tournament At Carousel Casino

Branco Sports Productions, in association with SABC Sport and Carousel, present “Perfect Match”, a thrilling boxing tournament at Carousel Casino in Temba, North-West, South Africa on Friday, September 21, 2007.

The main event features perhaps the most exciting weight class in the sport as lightning quick WBC International Straw-weight Champion Zukisani “Troublemaker” Kwayiba puts his title at risk against hardened Filipino, Alex “Maasin Bomber” Aroy, over twelve scheduled rounds.

But Arroy,12-4-1 (6), will need lady luck in his corner if he is to survive the distance as dangerous southpaw Kawayiba, 9-0 (7), has stopped his last five opponents including a devastating first round destruction of former South African champion Sithembile Kibiti this past March in East London.

A hotly anticipated South African title fight leads the undercard attractions as Minimumweight champion Jonas Kgasago, 10-1 (5), seeks to defend his crown against highly motivated challenger Mzukisi Myeki, 6-2-3 (4), of Mdantsane.

Should Kwayiba and Kgasago win thier respective fights, the two could meet in a riveting showdown later this year in what could be a candidate for “Fight of the Year”.

In other action, former South African featherweight champion Anthony “Blue Jaquar” Tshehla, 25-9-2 (12), will tangle with number one domestic junior lightweight Jasper Seroka, 14-1 (7), in an eight round contest. Seroka, of Johannesburg, has won all six of his bouts since suffering his only loss, a 2003 bout with future IBF super feather champion Malcom Klassen.

Big punching welterweight starlet Chris Van Heerden, 7-0 (6), will try to run his knockout streak to five when he meets Venda’s spirited battler Mpho Tshiambara, 5-8 (3), over six rounds.

Exciting bantamweight prospect Cleutus Mbele, 2-0-1 (1), of Johannesburg looks to keep his record perfect as he faces Toto Helebe, 3-2, over six rounds.

Junior middleweight Michael Van Heerden, 1-0-1 (1), clashes with Thinawanga Mukhwathi, 0-1 (0), over four rounds to round out the evening’s entertainment.

Branco Sports Productions presents “Perfect Match” at the Carousel Casino in Temba, North-West, South Africa on Friday, September 21 featuring the WBC Straw-weight title bout between champion Zukisani Kwayiba and challenger Alex Aroy, with full undercard.
