Boxing Under the Stars

ByBoxing Press 19/09/2007

The press conference/weigh-in for promoter Joseph Donofrio’s “Boxing Under the Stars” event will be held at the Wingate by Wyndham Hotel at 6:00 pm on Thursday, September 20, 2007. The Wingate by Wyndham Hotel is located at 2200 Featherstone Road in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

The following night, the “Boxing Under the Stars” event will be held at 7:30 p.m. at Meadow Brook Music Festival, located on the campus of Oakland University (off Walton Boulevard and Adams Road). It is accessible from I-75 at University Drive (exit 79) and from M-59 at Adams Road.

Known for going the extra mile for fans, Donofrio’s “Boxing Under the Stars,” will feature four professional bouts, as well as a special peek at local amateur “stars of tomorrow.”

In the main event, Detroit’s own undefeated Lanardo “Pain Server” Tyner (16-0, 9 KOs) will face slick Tennessee veteran Marteze Logan. While Tyner is known for his pulverizing punching power, Logan has faced a long list of the world’s toughest fighters and always proves a stern test. Only the best get past “Too Sweet” Logan.

Also doing battle that night will be Windsor, Ontario’s undefeated female world champion Jeannine Garside (6-0-1, 2 KOs). A superstar in the making, having just seven career fights, Garside has already beaten many of the top female fighters in the featherweight division. However, fellow undefeated fighter Booke Dierdorff is coming to Michigan with pulling an upset on her mind.

Rounding out the professional portion of the exciting undercard will be Waterford, Michigan’s popular slugger “Pistol” Pete Cantu (10-6-1, 7 KOs) taking on Grand Rapids native Reggie “Two Guns” Nash and “People’s Choice” cruiserweight Darryl Cunningham (6-1, 3 KOs) against Tennessee spoiler Edgar King.

Tickets for “Boxing Under the Stars” are priced at $50, $30 and $20 pavilion and $10 lawn and are on sale now at Palacenet.com, The Palace and DTE Energy Music Theatre Box Offices and all Ticketmaster locations. Special Superfan seating is also available. Tickets may also be charged by phone to American Express, Discover, Visa and MasterCard by calling 248-645-6666. Group discounts are also available by contacting the group sales department by calling 248/371-2055.
