The Ring Magazine Belt Presentation.

The Ring began awarding championship belts in 1922 (the year the magazine was founded).
It stopped awarding world titles from 1989 through 2001. The 1990s was a modern Golden Age for the sport, featuring many great champions and superstars (like Oscar and Julio Cesar Chavez Sr).

As part of The Ring’s ongoing 100-year anniversary celebration, the magazine is awarding what we call “Legacy Championship belts” to the world titleholders of the 1990s who would have been Ring champs if the publication was awarding belts at the time.
