Star Boxing: “The Hurricane” Hits Manhattan October 18

ByBoxing Press 06/10/2007

Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing today announced the long over due American debut of Moroccan sensation Ali “The Hurricane” Oubaali (19-3, 16 KO’s). Oubaali came to the states 20 months ago to realize his dream of becoming a world champion. With a record of 19 wins, and a non-stop punching style, he is determined to achieve that dream.

Oubaali is set to face Panamanian southpaw Victorio Abadia (22-5, 8 KO’s) as the co-main event on the “Boxing – Ballroom” card at The Grand Ballroom, Manhattan Center, New York City. The bout is scheduled for eight rounds of toe-to-toe action.

This fight marks Oubaali’s sixth time fighting outside of his native France, winning all but one, Oubaali proves he can fight on foreign soil and be victorious.

“I left everything back in my homeland of France to come to America, I landed with nothing in my pocket but a dream. I have been very blessed to have a fantastic support team of trainers, management and promoter Joe DeGuardia. I am looking forward to showcasing my talents to the American fight fans, and capturing the American public” said Oubaali

“Oubaali has long promised that he will be the most exciting fighter to hit America since Manny Pacquaio. I look forward to watching his fight on October 18. It really is a fight-night of the ‘action fighters’ with Vinny Maddalone and Ali Oubaali and the rest of the planned fights,” said Joe DeGuardia.

Kugan Should Retire! 16/09/2026
He’s Eddies mate and I know they’ve been doing interviews since before either of them really had a profile…but Eddie still gives Kugan wayyyyy too much latitude in the interviews that Hearn needs to resonate with the public. Kugan constantly cuts across him, with some meaningless aside, or to tries to get a rubbish ‘gotcha’, for no reason. There are better i […]

Ain't we all want to see Jai v David? 14/09/2026
Don’t we? Let’s cut all of the bullshit here. This is the only fight worth a $100 PPV buy, it’s Jai Opetai v David Benavidez. Canelo is in the background now. He is not worthy of paying any attention to at this point and time. Plus, since Crawford is retired, he is not worth mentioning either, even if he comes back to fight Boots… There is no other fight on […]
Where does Conor Benn go from here? 14/09/2026
Conor Benn has been exposed as a no better than a Misfit fighter. He has just been destroyed in 2 rounds for an undeserved Welterweight world title. His best win is against a faded if not shot Eubank Jnr at middleweight. So where does Conor go from here? Conor has already managed to secure a multimillion contract from Zuffa which may be in jeopardy. As a res […]
