8 Count Boxing Announces “Bad Blood” Fightcard October 19

Dominic Pesoli’s 8 Count Productions has announced further details of “Bad Blood”, an evening of world class professional boxing set for Friday, October 19 at Cicero Stadium.

Headlining “Bad Blood” is a lightweight Mexican showdown between Chicago native, Jaime “Superfly” Sandoval and Juan Carlos “El Pez” Martinez of San Luis Potosi, Mexico.

Sandoval, brother of former lightweight world champion Jesus Chavez, who will accompany him to the ring, sports a record of 14-2 with twelve knockouts, his most recent bout being a controversial, majority decision loss to Johnnie Edwards five months ago.

Prior to that fight, Sandoval had won six in a row including a fourth round stoppage of Pete Cantu on June 23, 2006 for the Illinois State Super Featherweight Title.

Martinez, with a hard earned record of 7-4-1 (4), returns to the 8 Count ring following an outstanding Solo Boxeo televised war with undefeated prospect Wilton Hilario on July 13 at the Congress Theater. After eight action packed rounds between the two warriors, the fight was declared a draw.

Said Pesoli of the main event, “We’ve watched Jaime grow up in Chicago and he’s gotten better each time we’ve seen him. Juan Carlos fought a terrific battle with Hilario three months ago and the fans loved that fight. This should be an outstanding bout between two prospects looking to continue to take a step up. There’s a lot on the line for both guys.”

Also featured on the card in a scheduled six rounder is heavy handed Russian middleweight Victor Polyakov, 5-0 (4). Since bursting on the Chicago boxing scene late last year, “The Ukrainian Tiger” has become a crowd favorite with his all action battles in the ring.

Popular light heavyweight “Irish” Mike Nevitt, 14-1 (5) will also be appearing at “Bad Blood” in a scheduled six rounder. Nevitt is looking to bounce back after his battle with Otis Griffin this past April in the WBO/NABO title fight.

In a four round match up of unbeaten cruiserweights, Chicagoan Deividas Nekrasas, 3-0 (3) will face Fargo, North Dakota native Lucas St. Clair, 1-0. Since making his pro debut earlier this year, the Lithuanian native Nekrasas has impressed Chicago fight fans with his fast hands and destructive power.

Opening the evening, Chicago super middleweight Gerald Taylor, 1-0 (1) will face Brandon Burke of Davenport, Iowa in a four rounder.

“Bad Blood” is presented by 8 Count Productions along with TCF Bank, Miller Beer and Aero Mexicano.

Much more information on this terrific evening of professional boxing evening will be announced shortly.

Cicero Stadium is located at 1909 S. Laramie, just minutes from the Eisenhower and Stevenson Expressways. Doors for this event will open at 7:00pm with the first bell at 8:00pm. Tickets are available in advance by calling 312-226-5800.
