Friday Night Boxing Results

ByRichard Eberline 02/02/2008

There was some good action last night across the globe aside from what we’ve included in our main reports here at SaddoBoxing and we begin in sunny Australia!

The Inglis Auctions Complex in Sydney saw the return of the world’s only professional boxing practicioner of the drunk monkey style, Emanuel Augustus, 36-29-6 (19), as the 33 year old super journeyman knocked out David Wiremu, 14-16-2 (6), in two rounds at welterweight.

Augustus’ career has had so many ups and downs but he’s given many top flight boxers the fights of their lives and has relocated to Sydney, where he is scheduled to challenge South Africa’s IBO Welter Champion Isaac Hlatswayo in April.

Next stop is Graceland Casino in Secunda, South Africa where domestic lightweights Kaiser Mabuza, 12-6-3 (7), and Anthony “Blue Jaguar” Tshehla, 25-10-3 (12), fought to a six round draw.

Tshehla is a former WBC International/South African Featherweight titlist who KO’ ex-IBF Feather Champ Mbulelo Botile in 2005 but has struggled ever since.

We head way, way north to Finland next where former European Middleweight titlist Amin Asikainen, 24-1 (16), stopped rugged Mexican campaigner Yory Boy Campas, 91-11 (73), in the seventh.

The 36 year old Campas, a former IBF Light Middle Champion, has only previously been stopped by current or former world titlists. Asikainien has now won three straight and could be in line for a third bout with current European kingpin Sebastien Sylvester.

We go transatlantic now and land on our feet at Coliseo Rafael G Alambert in Juncos, Puerto Rico where former light welter contender Henry “El Nirto” Bruseles, 26-3-1 (15), stopped Robert Frankel, 21-8-1 (4), in four.

On the undercard, featherweight prospect Mario Santiago, 19-1 (14), returned to the win column by rubbing out well seasoned Mexican Edel Ruiz in the first round with a tremendous body blow.

The party moves to the American mainland where at the Palace of Auburn Hills in Michigan, lightweight Lanardo Tyner, 19-0 (11), stayed perfect with a first round stoppage of Panamanian southpaw Victorio Abadia, 22-7-2 (8).

At the Expo Mart in Monroeville, PA, former IBF Feather Champ Erik Aiken, 16-7-1 (12), was stopped in the seventh frame by Monty Meza-Clay, 27-1 (18), at super feather.

Also on the bill, undefeated welter Brian Camechis, 17-0 (8), outboxed Doel Carrasquillo, 11-7-1 (9), over eight rounds for a unanimous decision.

  • Errol Spence v Tim Tszyu - June 2026 07/04/2026
The clash between Spence and Tszyu had reportedly been lined up to take place in June. Tim did suffer a cut in his bout against Nurja, which could potentially delay proceedings. I am concerned that Spence has not fought for years now and having no warm up. This may show that he has not much left and cashing in. Tszyu secured a one-sided unanimous decision wi […]
