IBF World Super Middleweight champion Lucian Bute had to schedule an emergency visit this afternoon with Orthopedic Dr. Jacques Toueg due to a bad pain in his leg. Following his examination of Lucian’s leg, Dr.Toueg imposed a strict six week period away from any type of training.
Dr. Jacques Toueg did not leave Lucian any other choice, forcing him to take the next six weeks off from all physical activity. “This is the type of injury where an athlete could cut his season short, or even end it. It is very risky to fight in such a state. A mandatory rest period is a necessity”.
Lucian Bute is scheduled to depart for Romania this weekend to support his fellow stablemate Adrian Diaconu in his bid to become the WBC Interim Light Heavyweight champion. Lucian will be accompanied by Stephan Larouche.
