A couple of hard hitters collide Friday evening, August 29, when Mike Jones, of Philadelphia, PA, takes on Juliano Ramos, of Sao Paulo, Brazil, for the vacant NABA Welterweight title at the New Alhambra, in South Philadelphia.
The Jones-Ramos 10 rounder will be televised live by Telefutura/Univision as part of a two-hour broadcast beginning at 8pm EST.
Jones, 25, has won all 14 of his pro fights, 12 by knockout. He was taken the eight-round limit both times this year, scoring decisions over Germaine Sanders,of Chicago, IL, and Gilbert Venegas, of East Moline, IL.
Jones has knocked out Doel Carrasquillo, of Lancaster, PA, and former world-title challenger Israel “Pito” Cardona, of Hartford, CT.
Ramos, 28, now lives in Boca Raton, FL. His 15-1-1 record includes 12 knockouts and wins over Antonio Ramirez, of the Dominican Republic, and Moises Pedroza, of Colombia.
In his last fight, November 17, Ramos knocked out John Trotman, of Barbados, in Port Saint Lucie, FL.
