After a summer break, Spotlight Boxing returns on Friday, August 29, 2008 at the Burg-Waechter Castello in Dusseldorf for fan favorite Susi “Killer Queen” Kentikian’s bout against Israel’s Hagar Shmoulefeld Finer, the last opponent of the recently retired record breaking world flyweight champion, Regina Halmich, who will be ringside, performing color commentating duties with broadcast parter Matthias Preuss.
Well known for her six performances in Germany, the aggressive Finer, 17-6-3 (4), brings enormous confidence into the ring and the 23 year old from Tel Aviv has never been stopped during competitive losses to some of the top fighters in women’s boxing including Halmich, Julia Sahin, Alesia Graf and Stefania Bianchini.
But Finer will have her work cut out for her as heavy-handed WIBF/WBA Flyweight Champion Susi Kentikian, 21-0 (16), has become a national boxing hero in Germany while riding a string of six20consecutive world title defenses.
Just 20 years old, the Hamburg native was recently named the WBA Female Champion oF The Year “ and coach Magomed Schaburow is convinced of a victory in Dusselfdorf on August 29.
“Finer is a serious, uncomfortable opponent,” said Schaburow. “It is hard to estimate how the fight will go, possibly the full round distance, but we know also that it can go with fast with Susi!”
In the main support fight of the evening, middleweight Sebastian Zbik, 23-0 (9), from Schwerin will make the fifth defense of his WBO Intercontinental belt when he meets Brazil’s John Anderson Carvalho (18-2-1 (11).
The smart Spotlight Boxing fighter has surrounded himself with a superb team led by renowned trainer. Fritz Sdunek as he prepares in the spa town of Zinnowitz on the isle of Usedom in the Baltic Sea.
“Here in Zinnowitz, the training conditions are simply optimally – super weather, super air – there can be no better way to train,” said Zbik. “I have real fun here!
