The fight was stopped in the seventh round of a scheduled twelve by referee Gelasio Perez as Ortiz battered Aguirre to defeat. With the win, new champion Ortiz boasts a new record of twenty-four wins against four losses and a draw while Aguirre falls to a record of thirty-three win, three losses and a draw.
