By Per Ake Persson

Russian heavy Alexander Povetkin has pulled out of the fight against Ukrainian Alexander Dimitrenko with the vacant European title at stake. The deadline for pursebids or agreement was tomorrow.

According to Sauerland Event´s CEO, the decision to pull Povetkin out was because they didn´t have any TV date before August 29.

Dimitrenko will now face the highest available challenger which could be Commonwealth champ Martin Rogan.

SES have announced a rematch between Robert Stieglitz and Lukas Wilaschek as the chief support to Botha vs. Hoffmann on May 15 in Magdeburg. Stieglitz won the first fight on a split decision in what was for the vacant WBC International belt.

WBA light flyweight champ Brahim Asloum will have his first fight since December of 2007 on April 27 in Cannet-Cote d´Azur and face Mexican Humberto Pool in a non-title encounter over ten rounds. The fight goes out live for a fee of 3.80 Euros over brahimasloum.com

Marco Huck defends the European cruiserweight title on May 9 in Bamberg against Ukrainian Vitaly Rusal. In the chief support EE-EU ju nior middle champ Alexander Abraham faces Magomed Abdurakhmedov from Russia but fighting out of the Czech Republic.

Heavies Cengiz Koc and Oleg Platov are again on the bill but if the actually will get in the ring remains to be seen – it´s an interesting matchup though between two guys who, early on, promised a lot but have failed to deliver.

Former cruiser champ Jean Marc Mormeck makes his debut as a heavyweight on July 11 in Paris. In the headliner, European lightweight king Anthony Mezaache defends the title against Ukrainian Andrei Kudriavtsev.

Undefeated Belgian Stephane Jamoye challenges WBC Youth bantam champ Pungluang Sor Singyu on May 9 in Loncin. In the chief support, junior light Ermano Fegatilli clashes with Spaniard Jesus Escalona Garcia.

Pole Rafael Jackiewicz has relinquished the European welter title to concentrate on a possible IBF eliminator. Belgian Jackson Osei Bonsu and Italian Gianluca Branco are co-challengers for the vacant title.

Juergen Haeck and Kobe Vanderkhove battled to a technical draw on Friday night in Gent in a fight for the Belgian welterweight title. On the undercard, tough journeyman Ismail Abdoul returned after a spell behind bars and stopped Giovanni Jemma in the fifth.

  • Haney does not want to fight Shakur 23/10/2026
I’ve seen their sparring videos on YouTube. And I can see why Haney is having all of this hullabaloo before signing on to fight Shakur Stevenson. He knows he can’t beat Shakur. Plus, coming off of that ass-whipping he got from Ryan Garcia, steroid claims aside, he knows Shakur will cook him and he does not want to have another legitimate loss on his record. […]
  • Ryan Garcia v Floyd Mayweather? 23/10/2026

  • Why did we believe Morrison would have beaten Mercer? 22/10/2026
Why was anyone giving Tommy Morrison a chance in that fight? That fight went the way it was supposed to go, with Ray Mercer winning even though that ko was probably one of the most brutal you would ever see in boxing. Check the facts, Mercer beat Morrison in the amateurs. Handily as well. Mercer was the champion… Mercer was the heavy favorite. 3 posts - 2 pa […]
  • I just realize how scared Spinks was ahead of his fight against Tyson 22/10/2026
Did you guys stop to appreciate how frightened Spinks was? Even as a trained fighter like himself, you could see the visible fear in his eyes. He knew he stood no chance of winning. He also was probably thinking about how bad those punches were going to hurt. lolol… I could swear I saw him trembling in the ring when Tyson’s music came on and started his walk […]

  • Do we understand that these people are FIGHTING? 03/10/2026
We watch boxing as if it is just a sport. But do we realize that these people are fighting. Like, literally trying to beat each other to death in the ring? Do we appreciate how different that is? I was sitting back today and watching some old fights and the reality hit me. These people are actually fighting. How amazing and shocking that is at the same time? […]
