Round by Round: Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. vs. Ryan Maraldo.

Young Chavez Jr. entered the arena to a rapturous reception as fight fans remembered the famous days of his legendary Father’s exploits in the ring. Chavez Jr. wore almost exactly the same ring attire as his Father used to and the crowd warmed to the youngster very much. When everything settled and the matter of dealing with his business was at hand, Chavez Jr. showed exactly why he is being mentioned as an exciting lightweight prospect. Read on for what happened between these two fighters as the MGM Grand began to fill in anticipation of the main event.

Round one: Maraldo’s hands are far too slow, he punches with Chavez and it seems as if they are on entirely different planets in terms of speed. Chavez does early damage with combinations and hurts Maraldo badly towards the end of the round.

Round two: Chavez lands a right uppercut and Maraldo retreats to the ropes, already, Maraldo is taking a beating. Chavez is deducted a point, probably for holding and hitting. Chavez returns to work unperturbed and Maraldo is worse for wear because of it. Chavez lands combinations at will and hits some good body shots.

Round three: Maraldo is trying to get into the fight but Chavez has too much for him. Chavez cannot miss and finally, a big jab-right hand combination convinces the referee to stop the fight.
The winner by TKO and still undefeated, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
