Yesterday in Sydney, Australia, IBF flyweight champion Vic Darchinyan retained his title with a stoppage of challenger Mzukisi Fikali in the eighth round. Darchinyan, known for his aggressive style and impetuous attitude in the ring, went after his first title challenger with vigor and managed to bring an end to Fikali’s ambitions in the eighth as Fikali literally wanted no more of what Darchinyan had to offer. Other notable Australian fight figures were in action on the card in the form of Lovemore N’Dou who knocked out his opponent in the second round, while Nedal Hussein rebounded from his title loss to Oscar Larios with a first round win.
