His road back to the top starts Saturday night, March 12, against upset-minded Josh “Pitbull” Torres, in the 10-round main event kicking off the new monthly pro boxing series, “Knockout Night at the D”, airing live (8 p.m. PT / 11 p.m. ET) on CBS Sports Network live from the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center (DLVEC).

The card is promoted by Rising Promotions in association with Vincent M. Ponte’s Gulf Stream Promotions.

Undefeated superstar champions Terence “Bud” Crawford and Felix “El Diamante” Verdejo will make their 2016 debuts in title defenses, this Saturday, February 27, at the “Mecca of Boxing”, The Theater at Madison Square Garden.

Crawford, the two-division world champion and 2014 Fighter of the Year will be defending his World Boxing Organization (WBO) junior welterweight world championship belt against Top-10 contender “Hammerin’” Hank Lundy.

Verdejo, the boxing gem of Puerto Rico, will be risking his WBO Latino lightweight title crown and his march to a world title shot when he rumbles with undefeated Brazilian buzz saw William “Baby Face” Silva. British middleweight champion Nick ‘Bang Bang’ Blackwell has blasted Chris Eubank Jr. for posting on social media footage of himself knocking out a young sparring partner last week.

The short video sparked heated debate and some condemnation when uploaded to Eubank Jr.’s social media accounts and Blackwell – who faces Eubank Jr. on March 26 at The SSE Arena – has branded his upcoming opponent a ‘bad role model’. (more…)

IBF champion Carl Frampton, 21-0 (14), faces WBA champion Scott Quigg, 31-0-2 (23), in a much anticipated super bantamweight unification clash February 27 at Manchester Arena in Manchester, England.

I think it’s gonna be an atmosphere like never seen before on a night of boxing. I mean, I feel like boxing and live sport is about passion. It’s about energy, and it’s about excellence, and you have all three of those factors on Feb. 27.
