    After pound for pound king Floyd “Money” Mayweather (48-0, 26 KOs) mentioned Karim “Hard Hitta” Mayfield (19-2-1, 11 KOs) as one of his possible opponents for his final contracted fight with Showtime, the San Francisco native says is ready to step up and give Mayweather his first loss.

    “I’m always ready to fight anyone anywhere,” said Karim Mayfield. “The fact that the great Floyd Mayweather has mentioned me as someone he wants to fight in September is music to my ears. It would be an honor to fight Floyd in Las Vegas. He’s done a lot for the sport and he’s arguably the best fighter to ever lace em up. (more…)

    One week before WBA heavyweight champion Ruslan Chagaev steps into the ring to defend his title against Francesco Pianeta at Getec Arena in Magdeburg, Germany, the WBA appointed the ring officials.

    Russell Mora from Las Vegas will be the third man in the ring, the judges are Philipp Verbeke (Belgium), Manuel Palomo (Spain) and Hector Guillot (Venezuela). (more…)

  • “Relentless” Russell Henshaw Coming Forward At Cruiserweight

    Ilkeston’s ‘Relentless’ Russell Henshaw knows all about hard work, and is willing to pay his dues, both inside and outside the ring, in pursuit of cruiserweight titles.

    The amiable 30-year-old balances a burgeoning boxing career with jobs as a bricklayer and tree surgeon and will next appear, in the ring, on July 25 at Derby Arena.

    “Recently I’ve been working on the railways swinging a chainsaw about and chopping down trees,” he said. “I’ve been working in the heat all week wearing chainsaw trousers and thick, heavy clothing. It helps me lose weight, but, other than that, it’s horrible. (more…)

  • GH3 Promotions Signs Prospect O’Shanique Foster To Contract

    Vito Mielnicki’s GH3 Promotions is proud to announce the signing of undefeated Jr. Lightweight O’Shanique Foster to an exclusive promotional contract.

    Foster, 6-0 (3), is from Beaumont, Texas, and trains out of Houston.

    He was a former amateur star where he was a two-time national Jr. Golden Gloves champion, five-time Ringside National champion, National PAL champion and 2011 Houston Golden Gloves champion. He made it to the finals of the Olympic trials before losing to eventual Olympian Joseph Diaz. (more…)

  • British Prospect Woodall Off To Promising Career Start In America

    Unlike most British boxers who first establish themselves at home in the United Kingdom before fighting in the United States, middleweight Steed “The Stallion” Woodall packed up and moved over a year ago from Birmingham, England to Miami, Florida in order to pursue his boxing dream.

    As an amateur, Woodall was a five-time England National Champion, two-time British Champion, and quarterfinalist in the World Youth Championships. His aggressive style has proven to be much better suited for pro boxing, evident by his impressive 7-0-1 (5 KOs) professional record. (more…)

  • Docherty vs. Kelly Lands In Paisley August 15

    Glasgow’s former Commonwealth Champion Craig Docherty is set to challenge Dundalk, Ireland’s Michael Kelly for the WBU Super Welterweight title, on the Thomas Melville’s Colloseum Promotions “The Comeback” event at the Lagoon Leisure Centre in Paisley on Saturday 15th August.

    For Docherty it could be deemed a case of back to the future, as back in 2007 he unsuccessfully challenged Lee McAllister for the Lightweight version of the WBU title.

    Now eight years later Docherty will be hoping that it is a reversal in fortunes and on the 15th August it will be him, not his opponent that emerges victorious and crowned the WBU Super Welterweight Champion. (more…)

    Undefeated Welterweight Champion Keith “One Time” Thurman (25-0, 21 KOs) is ready for his July 11 Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) on ESPN fight, the first PBC fight on ESPN. Thurman will meet former world champion Luis Collazo (33-6, 19 KOs) on ESPN at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT live from the USF Sun Dome in Tampa.

    The 26-year-old Thurman, who kicked off the inaugural PBC card with a unanimous decision victory over Robert Guerrero, believes he is the best 147-pound boxer in the world. (more…)

  • Jones Vows To Dethrone British Middleweight Champ Blackwell

    Middleweight challenger Damon Jones believes age will be no barrier when he steps up in class to face British champion Nick Blackwell on July 25 at Derby Arena, live on Channel 5.

    The promising 22-year-old has looked faultless so far in his professional career – winning 13 bouts on the spin – but has yet to go past six rounds and has yet to meet a competitor quite like Blackwell. Not that it matters in Jones’ mind, of course. (more…)

  • Roy Jones Jr. Set To Headline September Liverpool Event

    Stephen Vaughan Jr. announced earlier today that five Division World Champion Roy Jones Jr. will be coming to Liverpool, England to headline his upcoming event at the Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool on Saturday 12th September 2015.

    Jones Jr, claimed his first World title with a unanimous points victory over Bernard Hopkins at the RFK Stadium in Washington DC back in May 1993 for the IBF Middleweight belt, which he successfully defended against Thomas Tate before challenging and beating James Toney for his IBF Super Middleweight crown in 1994.

    Jones Jr. successfully defended the Super Middleweight title five times, against Antoine Bird, Vinnie Pazienza, Tony Thornton, Eric Lucas and Bryant Brannan, before moving up to Light Heavyweight to successfully challenge Mike McCallum for the WBC interim Light Heavyweight title in November 1996.
