  • Gary Hyde Signs Bulgarian Amateur Star Naydenov

    International boxing manager Gary Hyde has announced that his company, Nowhere2Hyde, has signed 18-year-old Bulgarian amateur star Blagoy “Golden Boy” Naydenov to a long-term contract.

    Naydenov’s long-range goal is to become the first Bulgarian-born male world champion of a major boxing organization.

    Last summer, Naydenov captured a gold medal at the prestigious Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China, to go along with his championship winning performances at the Under-19 World Championships and Under-17 European Championships. (more…)

  • Jean Pascal Risks Top Ranking Against Roberto Bolonti

    Former world light heavyweight champion Jean Pascal (29-2-1, 17 KOs) risks his No. 1 ranking this Saturday night against Argentinian invader Roberto “The Beast” Bolonti (35-3, 24 KOs) in the 10-round main event on a pay-per-view card, presented by Interbox, at the famed Bell Centre in Montreal.

    Bolonti was originally scheduled to fight Lucian Bute, who was forced to pull out of the fight with a back injury, and Pascal was supposed to fight Donovan George. “I would like to thank (promoter) Jean Bedard and Interbox for making this fight happen,” Pascal said. (more…)

  • Solis vs. Thompson II Rescheduled For January 24

    The heavyweight rematch between Cuban Olympic gold medalist Odlanier Solis and US ring veteran Tony Thompson is scheduled for January 24 in Dusseldorf, Germany.

    Promoter Ahmet Oner announced the new date today after the fight had to be postponed twice after Solis suffered an ankle injury in training. (more…)

  • GYM Boxing Signs Top Canadian Amateur Custio Clayton

    The best amateur boxer in Canada for more than five years, Custio Clayton, has signed a long-term agreement with Groupe Yvon Michel Inc. (GYM).

    The leader of the Canadian National Team in recent years, Clayton captured six national titles. He represented Canada at many international tournaments including the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi and 2014 in Glasgow, 2013 World Championships in Almaty, Kazakhstan and 2011 in Baku, Azerbaijan, highlighted by his participation in the 2012 Olympics in London.   • Sky Sports To Televise Khan vs. Alexander In UK

    Sky Sports has secured the rights to show Amir Khan’s pivotal fight with Devon Alexander exclusively live from the MGM Grand in December.

    Khan tops the bill in Las Vegas as he goes head-to-head with Alexander on Saturday 13 December, live on Sky Sports 1, with the winner set to throw their name into the sweepstakes to face WBA Super and WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Junior.

    Khan’s first fight at 147 pounds came in May when he overcame Luis Collazo on points, and the Bolton fighter returns to Las Vegas again to face the former two-weight world champion from St. Louis. (more…)

  • Tarver vs. Banks Clash Rescheduled For December 6

    A fractured thumb that forced the cancellation of his scheduled September 29 fight with veteran Johnathan Banks (29-2-1, 19 KOs) may prove to have had a silver lining for former world light heavyweight champion and 1996 U.S. Olympian Antonio “Magic Man” Tarver (30-6, 21 KOs).

    The determined and still dangerous southpaw, who turned 46 this past Friday, squares-off Dec. 11 against Banks in a 10-round heavyweight fight, on a Goossen Promotions card, airing live on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes from Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula, California. (more…)

    Jean Bédard, the president of InterBox, announced that the NABF Light Heavyweight Champion, Jean Pascal (29-2-1, 17 KOs), will combat Argentina’s Roberto Bolonti (35-3, 24 KOs), instead of Donovan George (25-4-2, 22 K-.O.) next December 6, at the Bell Centre.

    This decision was taken after careful consideration following long negotiations with Donovan’s team.   • Back To Belfast: Burnett Crushes Bulgarian Import

    Ireland’s rising bantamweight star, Ryan Burnett, 5-0 (4), returned to his home city of Belfast yesterday evening on the ‘Back to the Future’ boxing event at the Devendish Complex.
