U.S. District Court Judge Larry R. Hicks denied the Emergency Appeal filed by Floyd Mayweather, Jr. for a protective order to prevent his court-ordered deposition, finding that Mayweather’s motion was “without merit.” Mayweather’s deposition had been scheduled for June 17, 2011, in Las Vegas, Nev. Mayweather refused to appear.

This morning, Floyd Mayweather, Jr. refused to appear for a court-ordered deposition in the defamation lawsuit filed by pound-for-pound champion and Congressman Manny Pacquiao in a Las Vegas federal court.
Mayweather tried to postpone the deposition last minute, but Federal Magistrate Judge Robert Johnston denied his request and ordered Mayweather to appear for deposition today. Mayweather did not appear. (more…)
Today, the Honorable Daniel Weinstein (ret.) enjoined Golden Boy Promotions from promoting Top Rank boxer Nonito Donaire for the duration of Top Rank’s exclusive promotional agreement with Donaire. Golden Boy wrongfully signed Donaire to a four-year promotional agreement in the face of Top Rank’s agreement with the up-and-coming star. (more…)
