As a professional how the hell do these guys pull off gaining so much weight after the weigh ins the next day.
I've heard of guys making official weight one day ant then gainin 15 pounds over night before the right.

By cheating but theircheating themselves longterm What they should do the Powers that be is being back same day weigh ins. There wouldnt be so many accidents.Today we have less boxing and more accidents.

sweating all of the water out of your body and not eating or drinking till after the weigh in the day before.
Ricky Hatton is at 150 pounds now... but I can guarentee when he fights I bet its more like 163-4. the problem with doing this is some people are naturally around 150 so when they dry up they only put back on say 2-3 pounds and end up fighting a guy who's ballooned back up to 160 odd.
Its not actual tissue mass they are gaining though... just water and energy sources (glucoses, Glycogen, phosphorous etc) if you fuck it up though the water around you brain dosn't come back in time and you get hurt.
They box below their natural weight through seriously dehydrating.By giving them time,sometimes36 hours rehydrate, but its not enough time for the body to do it.It can take up to 4 days to hydrate properly

Yea but that re hydration makes them look at HELL of a lot different the next day....
If they do it properly...The older you get the less efficient your body is at rehydrating itself.
Theres a mixed martial artist (Joe "Diesel" Riggs) who is a walking heavyweight, but fights in the welterweight division. He's able to drop and then gain over 20 lbs when he dehydrates himself. Stuff like that is insane, and a great reason to bring back same day weighins.
Boxing is like a handjob, and MMA is like a hot sweaty orgy with 5 chicks. I could never say no to a handjob, but which would you rather have?
MMA fighter who can fgo from heavy to welter? most of his weight must be water retention![]()
