no....too much power and speed for jones....
"Sixty forty I kicks yo' ass, Sixty forty I tears yo' ass up" - Roy Jones
jones is the faster fight i think. he would have stopped whitaker.
the person i am really impressed with was judah he was notably faster then mayweather and was making him look silly for the first 5 rounds. untill he got tired. i tought his foot speed was awesome.
I think pernell could win a SD at welter, but Roy would be so much bigger and stonger than him

Hillarious. Being in the fight for 4-5 rounds & making someone look silly are two entirely different things IWO.Originally Posted by artest2000
Judah looked good for the first 5...that's all.

To hard to call because there is too much of a weight difference.
Very hard to call but if we are talking prime for prime, pound for pound, anyone who thinks either would be stopped, Is crazy... Whittaker the defensive genius with almost no power, against RJJ the phenominal athlete with unparalleled reflexes.. It would have been an amazing fight, but neither would have enough to stop the other, and it wouldn't have anything to do with style, they were both just great, great fighters. IMO Whitaker at his best could have fought for 30 rounds and still not stopped some opponents with a great chin and stamina, but considering that a prime Tito couldn't even stop his ghost, I really don't see any fighter actually stopping him within the distance either. I think some of the problems Montell Griffin gave Roy Jones could be things Pernell would use but he was so much better, I would actually pick him to beat Jones by a close decision and just frustrate him too much. This would have to be one of the best fantasy matchups ever when you think of each fighters talent and skill.
Judah was faster through 5, Floyd was faster through 7. And ultimately it matters. From jump Zab is faster, but Floyd reserved that speed until Judah slowed down that Floyd could do what he does with his speed and not have to worry about Judah's counter coming to quick for him to dodge but at the same time his being too quick for Judah to dodge. very good strategy and it's why he's p4p number 1Originally Posted by wacko3205
If Roy fought like he did at SMW, and earlier he would win, but if he fought like he did against Montel Griffin I think he loses for sure... he was so hesistant against Griffin, imagine how much harder Whitaker would be.
Roy started his career at 154. Pernell only fought there once and broke his clavicle.
Made mayweather lookl silly he looked good for five but by no means was he making floyd look sillllly please![]()
He actually fought there earlier... He beat Julio Ceasar Vasquez shortly after he had beaten Winky Wright and won the WBA light middle belt.. Vasquez was a very good fighter and much bigger than Whitaker but he wasn't even really in the fight.. Just shows how good Pernell was.Originally Posted by Starr
Judah wasn't faster in the first 5... Mayweather had faster hooks, and jabs, but his rights looked slower because he wasn't throwing the jab before the cross... Mayweather was fast enough to counter Judah once he got comfortable yet Judah only countered Mayweather when Mayweather truly came in whereas Mayweather was countering off the jab.Originally Posted by Starr
