I haven't been here in a while, so I don't know if this has been asked alot of times, but how do you build power in your punches? Does anyone have any training tips in how to build harder, more powerful punches? Any help is appreciated, thank you

It's not how hard you hit it; it's how WELL you hit it.

But seriously, I use a total gym for sport-specific moves...wrist moves for my hockey shot, certain arm moves for my throwing arm and hitting in baseball and jab-like moves and pseudo-one-armed push-ups for boxing. Plus it has an attachment for shoulder moves. Beyond that I hit the heavy bag a lot. I'm just a newb though, so I'm not yet a "boxer" but I do hit pretty hard if I do say so myself. And whenever I'm learning something new, I do it very slowly and methdically to develop a natural feeling and motion, like learning how to kick with your other foot or switch-hit in baseball. Proper technique leads to power...or so I've been told. Good luck.

You want technique first. But only way to build faster and harder punches is to do lots of heavy bag workout, shadow box, and lots of sparring. You should see an improvement after a little while, if you arent, then push yourself harder and you are guranteed to see some sort of improvement.

Now that took my eye, Total Gym, the most underrated peice of kit in gyms today. I think theyre great, every gym should have one. They are so addaptable, they are the total package, great for the whole body if you use your imagination. get some ankle straps and you can do some amazing Leg and Ab workouts on it, Briliant

My dad got one about 4-5 years ago, great peice of kit... used to watch the chuck Norris promotional advert thing and thought it was pretty funny but then after watching it properly realised it was a really good peice of kit.

Not got the ankle straps but I can imagine some really good kicks and rolls you could do for your abs with it.

Its not great for develong power though, you'd be better off just doing bag work and doing stuff to get explosive power in your legs like HITT running. It can only really replicate the action of the arms when punching and they are the last thing, they just transfer the power the legs generate.

You Lay down head to floor, strap everything to the knees. theres some amazing things can be done for Legs and hips by reversing the body and kneeling on it front and back just takes a bit of imaganation.
