    Default Question about stamina?

I am having problems with my stamina. I started power boxing my heavy bag at one minute rounds w/one minute rest. I am usually strong two rounds, but after that I'm completly gassed. I am in good shape, I do all of the basic boxing training with usually no problems. Does anybody know any good drills that will help get my stamina up??

Dont run before you can walk, old saying but true. You dont want to thicken the walls of the heart before having a solid foundation of fitness or your stamina will suffer long term. Its a long haul getting fit, it takes years of planning and progressive goals. You wont get it hurting the body day in day out, it dont work that way. Mix your workouts up enjoy ,have fun, stimulate the senses, dont kill them . Work towards fitness, not to destroy it.Have Fun

dont worry it takes time. a good way to build stamina though is to sparr. it will get you winded fast and make other workouts seem a lot less difficult once you've faught a man for a few rounds. dont forget to jog 3 miles or run sprints or both

WHen you first start boxing, you can't expect to be able to go 12 3-minute rounds like the pros do. You'll be lucky if you can last 2 rounds. Start slow, and work steady at it every day, and the stamina will rise by itself. It'll all come in due time, don't worry.

Ok so to gain stamina you need to do alot of running, preferably 3 miles in the early morning, and also when your at the gym, between rounds dont drink water or any sports drink at all. Put the water in your mouth, gargle it, and spit it out into the spit bucket. This way your body wont get used to having to have water between rounds and you get bigger and build stamina faster.

No you dont, Drink water lots of it, the body wont work without it .Your body is 70% water. Dehydration is a killer, your reproduction organs are put under stress. Your ventilation sytem doesnt work to its optimum, so your fitness suffers.Strengh is affected. Water is body freindly, there are no calories in it. If you want to get fit and loose fat drink plenty of water, it keeps you hydrated, so you can work harder and burn more calories

reminds me of the onformation some one my mate knows gave him... classic stuff...

If you tire yourself out and get a hand over and then go and train, because you are so tired, toxicated and dehydrated and all the rest of it... you're training is more effective because these things make it harder...

This same guy is currently studying to become a gym instructor... oh dear :P the people on the course I am on don't know a great deal, they can quote a few books but they don't really understand most of the core principals of training... this guy on the other hand
